H100 price per hour in 2026: what a GPU-hour costs now
Prices by chip
| GPU | Latest week | A year earlier | Change | Providers |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| A100 | $1.84 | $1.68 | +10% | 40 |
| H100 | $3.52 | $2.99 | +18% | 41 |
| H200 | $4.62 | $3.50 | +32% | 33 |
| B200 | $7.95 | $5.74 | +39% | 19 |
Median of each provider's median advertised on-demand price. Chips with fewer providers move more from week to week.
Two prices for the same hour
Published rate cards tell a different story from marketplaces. Our public rate-card composite — built from the list prices cloud providers publish — put the on-demand H100 hour at $5.33 on 14 Oct 2026, against a marketplace median of $3.52 in the week of 12 Oct 2026.
Neither number is “the” price. List prices show what providers ask for capacity on demand; marketplace medians show where spare capacity clears; reserved and contract prices, usually lower again, sit in agreements that are rarely published in full. For anyone valuing a neocloud, lending against GPUs or underwriting a datacentre lease, the spread between the three says how tight capacity is.
What moves the price of a GPU-hour
- Supply of the newest chips. When a generation is scarce, its hourly price holds up and pulls older chips with it.
- Power and space. A GPU earns only once it sits in a powered, cooled hall; grid connections and building timelines now set the pace more than chip deliveries.
- Contract mix. Providers that sold most of their capacity on multi-year take-or-pay contracts have less to offer on demand, which supports on-demand prices.
- Economic life. The price an owner needs depends on how many years a GPU can earn before it is replaced — see GPU-hour economics.
Questions
What does an H100 cost per hour in 2026?
The median advertised on-demand price was $3.52 per GPU-hour in the week of 12 Oct 2026, across 41 providers. Reserved and contract prices are usually lower.
How much does a B200 cost per hour?
The median advertised on-demand price of a B200 GPU-hour was $7.95 in the week of 12 Oct 2026, across 19 providers.
Are GPU rental prices falling?
Not for the H100 over the past year: its median on-demand price is up 18% on the same week a year earlier. Scarce new chips, power-limited capacity and long take-or-pay contracts have kept on-demand prices up.
Why do list prices differ from marketplace prices?
List prices are what providers publish for on-demand capacity; marketplace medians are where spare capacity is offered. Our public rate-card composite put the on-demand H100 hour at $5.33 on 14 Oct 2026, above the marketplace median.
Where can I see weekly GPU prices?
Weekly history for each chip is free on Compute Terminal's GPU price pages; the paid desk adds the three-layer price table of list, marketplace and contract prices.
